Smith & Smith P.R. win African development account in run-up to G8 Summit

Cheshire-based Smith & Smith P.R are celebrating a very topical international account win, having been appointed to handle press and P.R. for Avenir-NEPAD, the lobbying group aiming to mobilize African-born professionals based around the world into taking a more active interest in African development issues. The campaign was be launched with an international press conference in London on 1 July to coincide with the opening of the G8 summit at Gleneagles, followed by the Bending the Arc conference at London’s Guildhall and the RegenAfrica trade exhibition in the capital in October which will help businesses and organizations engage in aiding African countries’ long-term development.

NEPAD refers to the New Partnership for African Development to which the UK is a subscriber amongst others. Avenir-NEPAD is run by former United Nations staff and African academics, including renowned development specialist Dr Emmanuel Argo who is president of Avenir-NEPAD UK.
